    Started taking Duromine on 01 March 2011

    Weight at the start: 111.2kg on 01 March 2011
    Weight after week1: 108.8kg (lost 2.4kg)
    " " week2: 106.9kg (lost 1.9kg)
    " " week3: 105.5kg (lost 1.4kg)
    " " week4: 104.7kg (lost 0.8kg)
    Lost 6.5kg in total.

    Hello Everyone!
    I'd like to share my experience with Duromine 15mg. My doctor is supervising my weight loss progress (I visit her every month) and I'm going to loose (hope so!) all my unwanted weight but in a long term - maybe in six months. I'm 39 and after quitting smoking 17 months ago I gained approx 30kg , was diagnosed with high blood pressure and diabetes (both are going in my family). I'm taking tablets ( two more months only) in regards to my HBP but now my blood pressure returned to normal after losing 6.5kg, which is a good news.
    From 30 March2011 I started to take Duromine 30mg and lost 1.8kg in a week which in TOTAL is 8.3kg in 5wks
    Week 5: 102.9kg, 04 April 2011 at 7am

    I am soo happy! Additionally on my doctor's advise :
    1) I am on a high protein diet because of my diabetes, which means I don't eat sweets, no sugar,no carbs- like bread , potatoes, rice, macaroni or pasta; I am allowed to eat meat,vegetables and fruits, eggs and becon;
    2) drink at least 4glasses of water- it's a must;
    3) have a 1 substitute meal a day (in my case at lunchtime) called 'high protein- complete meal';
    4) eat in small portion even 5x a day;
    3) exercise: walk minimum 5 days per week for 30minutes
    4) I don't drink alcohol, not even a drop while on the 2 different tablets ,before that I had a glass of wine or two on the weekend.
    I take my tablet first thing in the morning, which is between 7 or 7:15am no later or earlier, it's important to take it at the same time every day.
    Until now I didn't notice any symptoms while taking Duromine. I can sleep well, nothing really affects me. I feel good and same as before taking tablets.
    Cheers

    Hello!

    I want to update my progress, so:

    week6 : 101.8kg (1.1kg)
    Total after 6 weeks: 9.4kg

    That's a lot and in just 6 weeks, I can't believe it! I feel good, sleep well, nothing in particular is worrying me. In October this year I'm invaited to a wedding and I'm planning to look nice and slim.

    Also, I don't feel hungry anymore, which was something I couldn't control before.
    Now, sometimes I'm forgetting it's time to eat. If I don't eat at usual time, I feel kind of weak , so skipping meal is not really good for me. Drinking water is the other thing I need to remember (it was never a problem before) . I need to remember to drink at least 1L water daily .
    Exercise was always a big problem for me. I've never enjoyed walking. Now it all changed. I'm walking daily 7x a week for 30minutes, after dinner. I'm walking with my dog and kind of like it. If I skip my walk I feel something is missing-that's wierd.
    Ok, that's all for now. Cheers

    Hello Everyone!

    It's time to update my progress so:

    week7: 99.8kg (2kg)
    TOTAL LOSS after 7 weeks: 11.4kg

    I've notice I am more sleepy now maybe because of shorter days we have here (it's autumn). Can't really finish watching movies which I usually liked to watch at 7.30pm or 8.30. I sleep like never before and for too long now. So many people are complaining about problem with sleeping and I feel like an alien not having the symptom.
    Also, I have no problem with dry mouth or headaches and don't feel like I have more energy either- no changes here.
    As I mentioned before, I am still on blood pressure tablets (Diovan) and my HBP returned to normal and it stays that way.
    What I noticed during this past week, I am kind of nervous, unsettled for a short while every day and I need to focus not to jump on people. Just in case I told my friends what's happening and told my husband to be understanding (and always agree) while we discuss things
    Anyway, now before the Easter season I am really busy and with so many things on my head it could be the reason I am like that, not just Duromine.
    Regarding my look, I am shrinking everywhere, it's visible now. It makes me really really happy.
    That's all for now.
    With seasonal greetings to all - Ann

    TOTAL LOSS after 7 weeks: 11.4kg
    ==================== ===========
    Hello Everyone!

    It's Easter Monday today and I'm here to quickly update my progress.
    Week8: 99.8kg (lost 0kg!)
    Total weight loss after 8weeks remains at 11.4kg --- what thaa.....

    Now I'm confused and angry. Just for the start my advice is - weight yourself everyday at least you'll see how your weight goes, also you can easily recall what you eat or did during the week . My last week went like: Mon-99.8kg, Tue-99.8kg, Wed-99.8kg, Thu-99.3kg, Fri-99.4kg, Sat-99.6kg, Sun-100kg and today Mon-99.8kg.
    Tomorrow I am going to buy new bathscale just to make sure my scale works well.

    As you can see, looking back at week 4 where I lost only 0.8kg (1 month on Duromine) I can see my weight almost stops dropping and then...after beginning to take stronger 30mg tablets, weight goes down in week5.
    Now I'm in week8 (2months on Duromine) and should probably start to take 40mg but I continue (on doctor's advice) to stay on 30mg tablets and no drop in weight.
    Did I change anything?
    - I'm walking everyday for 30min instead of recommended 5times . One day was raining and instead of walking I exercised on my gym equipment: body massager-"shaker" and exercise bike;

    -everyday I'm drinking white coffee (two per day) with no sugar and twice during a week I added 1/3 of teaspoon to my coffee! I really miss sweet coffee normally I used to add a half of teaspoon sugar; I never missed sugar until now? I never liked sweets, except bit of sugar with coffee;
    -what else, I was feeling kind of nervous but it passed after few days; maybe stress adds do the weight?.

    Yes, it's a bit weird, especially that it's Easter and I didn't even touch food I shoudn't .Iit was not easy not to, somehow I managed!; and I didn't eat more than usual.
    All right, I'll update my weight loss or maybe now It'll be weight gain?! next week. Going back to enjoy my Easter with family. Cheers!

    Re: Started taking Duromine on 01 March 2011

    Hi!
    Just quick update.
    To my surprise, my weight is shedding since last Monday , it's 1kg less now. I'll see next Monday what is my official loss for the whole week.
    In the last few days I feel more hungry. I'm struggling not to eat more than I supposed to. I drink more water instead but food comes back to my mind more often now. Even in my dream last night I saw a table full of colourful food. That's crazy.
    Bye for now

    Hello

    Today is Tuesday. I was away from home and couldn't update my progress on Monday morning. This time I weighted myself on Monday afternoon and the results for the whole week is:
    week9 : 98.3kg (lost 1.5kg)
    Total weight loss after 9 weeks - 12.9kg

    I feel much better than in the last week. I don't feel hungry anymore. I still sleep well and I am no longer irritated by small things. Probably I needed a break away from home.
    By for now

    Hello Everyone

    Today is Monday, 09 May 2011 and time to see my progress :

    week10: 96.5kg (lost 1.8kg)

    TOTAL weight loss after 10 weeks: 14.7kg

    I don't know what to say...I lost almost 15kg in quite a short time (expected much slower progress) and I think- without too much effort, just: walking everyday for half an hour, avoiding some carbs, some I used to really liked (potatoes,pasta/ macaroni, rice, white bread), no sweets (never really liked it), no sugar, eating in small portion and mainly ham, white or red meat, vegetables, some fruits, eggs and drinking once daily 250ml of meal replacement(high protein with vitamins&minerals) instead of lunch and very important - drinking 1L or1,5L water daily, even when not feeling thirsty.
    At the end of this week I'll see my doctor and discuss some details about my weight loss program and if & when I am going to take 40mg tablets because I'm still on 30mg (as from week5). In general I feel good, sleep well, no side effects. I don't feel like having" too much energy" as some people discribed, just normal as before taking tablets. During last week I was really excited seeing, I can fit into some of my 14 (Australian) size clothing. Wow, I'm looking good and soon I'll need to shop for some new cloths.
    All right, need to focus on my work now, bye bye . Cheers
